The US lawmaker first expressed concern about the Kashmir situation, now apologizing

Washington, Ta. 13 August 2019, Tuesday

Amid growing support for India in the international arena on the Kashmir issue, a US lawmaker has changed his last stance. Expressing concern over the current situation in Kashmir since the abolition of Article 370, US lawmaker Thomas Suozzi wrote to US Defense Secretary Mike Pompeo. His party visited 100 people from the Indo-American community in New York 3rd District to have an Indian side in this regard. After meeting them, the MP announced his statement and apologized for his mistake.

In his statement, he said, "After that meeting, I realized that I had made a mistake by not consulting the friends of the Indian-American community before writing that letter. I'm sorry, if I had visited before I wrote the letter, my concerns would have been something else.

Despite the abolition of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, despite raising the issue in the world including China, the United States, has not received any support. Senior UN officials have not considered it necessary to respond to Kashmir. Accepting India's great success, Pakistan has finally accepted defeat.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi acknowledged that it was difficult to get support if he raised the Kashmir issue against five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Until then, Quraishi said that he does not see support from Muslim countries.
